hometown hero hunter corse

At ALCOVA Mortgage, we proudly recognize the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving others. This month, we honor Hunter Corse, a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran whose 14 years of service and continued community involvement make him a true Hometown Hero.

Servicio militar

Hunter Corse joined the military in 2010, just after graduating high school. Inspired by his father, a paratrooper, Hunter enlisted to discover who he was and to follow in his father’s footsteps.

He began his career with the Alabama Army National Guard 1-131st Long Range Surveillance Troop, later transferring to the Georgia Army National Guard 1-108th. There, he served in the Reconnaissance Surveillance Target Acquisition Troop as a sniper.

Hunter later became Active-Duty Army National Guard. He deployed with the 3rd Infantry Division and attached to the 7th and 10th Special Forces Group in Afghanistan, where he served as part of their uplift team.

Back home, Hunter continued to serve in leadership roles including Training NCO, Readiness NCO, Operations NCO, and S1 HR NCOIC. He concluded his career at the Georgia Army National Guard Headquarters as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator Operations NCO, retiring medically after 14 years of service.

Premios y reconocimientos

During his military career, Hunter received numerous awards, including:

  • Medalla Estrella de Bronce
  • Medalla al Mérito en el Servicio
  • Army Commendation Medal (2)
  • Army Achievement Medal (4)
  • Army Good Conduct Medal (2)
  • Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star
  • Combat Infantryman Badge
  • Pathfinder Badge, Parachutist Badge, Mountain Warfare Badge
  • Several Georgia National Guard honors, including the Humanitarian Service Award Ribbon (2)

These awards highlight his bravery, leadership, and commitment to his country.

La vida después del servicio

After retiring from the military, Hunter shifted his focus to building and serving his community. He is in the process of opening a coffee shop in downtown Acworth, inspired by his late grandmother’s Cuban-style coffee. His goal is to create a warm, welcoming place where people can gather and connect.

In addition, Hunter works as a Handyman and Project Manager, completing both residential and commercial renovations. He enjoys working with his hands and helping people bring their ideas to life.

Participación comunitaria

Hunter continues to serve others outside of his career. He is an active member of the City of Acworth Business Association, helping local business owners succeed—even supporting them financially when needed.

Together with his wife, Hunter is preparing to become a foster parent. He also serves as a substitute teacher, filling in to support both students and teachers. On top of that, Hunter sits on the board of a nonprofit organization that is developing a fun, family-focused space for the community.

Un legado duradero

From serving in Afghanistan to serving his neighbors at home, Hunter Corse represents the heart of a true Hometown Hero. His dedication, compassion, and leadership continue to make a lasting difference in his community.

Lindsay Frangie from our Marietta, GA branch was proud to present Hunter with his award.
