Samuel Cokley

Samuel Cokley served in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1983 as a Packing Specialist. During his service, he earned the Overseas Campaign Award and several Marksmanship Awards. He was stationed in Korea, California, and Georgia, gaining valuable experience and recognition for his dedication.

After leaving the military, Mr. Cokley worked in construction for many years. Unfortunately, health challenges, including 12 leg surgeries, forced him to retire. Despite these setbacks, he remains an active and cherished figure in his community.

Known as “The Neighborhood Watch,” Samuel Cokley regularly patrols his neighborhood. He ensures everyone’s safety and offers help wherever needed. His warm smile and willingness to assist make him a beloved figure.

Family is at the heart of Mr. Cokley’s life. He takes pride in his three daughters and eight grandchildren. His joy has grown with the news of his first great-grandchild, expected later this month. Additionally, he passionately supports his nephew’s barbecue sauce business, SUM MO, always cheering it on.

Those who know him describe him as loyal, protective, and deeply compassionate. His acts of kindness and dedication to others set him apart as a true community hero.
