Mikeal Lewis

Our Hometown Hero program highlights the service members and community leaders who make a difference where we live. Today, we are proud to recognize Mikeal Lewis for his dedication to both his country and his community.

Military Service

Mikeal Lewis began his military journey in December 2007 with a strong desire to serve his nation and his home state of Virginia. He is still proudly serving in the Virginia Army National Guard as a Career Counselor. Over the years, he has worked his way up to the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Throughout his service, Mikeal has earned several awards. One of his most meaningful achievements is his Expert Recruiting Badge, which represents hard work, skill, and commitment to helping others join the military.

Career Goals After the Military

When Mikeal eventually transitions out of the military, he plans to continue building on his passion for electrical work. His goal is to earn his journeyman electrician license and later become a master electrician. He has already spent many years gaining hands-on experience in the field, and he looks forward to turning that experience into a full-time career.

Community Involvement

Outside of his military role, Mikeal stays active in his community by supporting local youth sports. He has coached several recreational league teams, including softball, T-ball, and football. Coaching has allowed him to mentor young athletes, teach teamwork, and support families in his community.
