James Kirchner began his military service in July 1993 when he entered Basic Training and AIT at Ft. Benning, GA. There, he earned his certification as an 11 H/B Infantryman. His first duty station took him to Ft. Polk, LA, where he served with C Troop 1/2 A.C.R. from September 1993 to November 1996. During this period, James Kirchner and his team deployed to Haiti as part of the U.N. Peacekeeping mission from April to September 1995. This experience proved to be a pivotal moment in his military journey.
In November 1996, James Kirchner moved to Camp Casey in South Korea, and later transferred to Ft. Campbell, KY. After completing his service, he received an honorable discharge for medical reasons in February 1998. However, his commitment to the military did not end there. In November 2000, James Kirchner rejoined the Army, this time with the 101st Airborne Division. He was assigned to HHC 3rd of the 3327 Infantry Support Platoon, where he helped transport soldiers, MREs, and ammunition. He then served in Kuwait and Iraq from March 2003 to February 2004.
James Kirchner received numerous awards during his military career, including the Army Achievement Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. These accolades reflect his dedication and bravery throughout his service.
In recognition of his outstanding service, James Kirchner received a personalized plaque and a $500 check from Jason Inglish, Branch Partner at ALCOVA Mortgage. His story continues to inspire and demonstrate the true meaning of dedication to both country and community.
