David Camp

Veteran David Camp began serving his country at just 17 years old when he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He worked as a pneudraulic mechanic, maintaining the pneumatics and hydraulics of Air Force aircraft. While stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ, he had the unique opportunity to work on fighter jets. During his time there, he met his wife, Barbara. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, marking a lifetime of shared memories.

After leaving the military, David pursued a variety of careers, including positions at WL Gore & Associates and Cobb County Water. Despite these professional achievements, he views his decision to follow his faith as the most important choice of his life. In 1980, David became a Christian. He realized that serving the Lord also meant serving His people. This realization led him and Barbara to open homes for battered women and women recovering from substance abuse. They also traveled across the country to help others in need.

In recent years, David has focused on jail ministries, where he shares God’s love with prisoners. He reminds them of their worth and the blessings they can embrace. After feeling a divine call, David and Barbara moved back to Georgia. They received their home loan through ALCOVA Mortgage in Kennesaw and have since continued their ministry work.

Today, David is actively involved with his church and a home group. He looks forward to rejoining jail ministries in Georgia, where he can make an even greater impact. His unwavering faith and dedication to serving others inspire those around him.
