David Camp
Veteran David Camp enlisted in the United States Air Force when he was just 17 years old. He became a pneudraulic mechanic, maintaining pneumatics and hydraulics for the Air Force aircraft at his base. While stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ, Camp had the opportunity to work on fighter jets. He also met his wife, Barbara during his time at Luke Air Force Base. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!
Following his time in the Air Force, Camp was blessed with several careers including positions with WL Gore & Associates and Cobb County Water. While he is grateful for these opportunities, he claims the most important life choice he has made was becoming a Christian. After giving his life to Christ in 1980, he says he realized that serving the Lord meant serving His people. Over the years, Camp and his wife have traveled the country serving His people, opened a home for battered women, and opened women’s homes for those coming out of alcohol and drug abuse situations.
More recently, Camp has gotten involved in jail ministries. He has the opportunity to share the love of God with the prisoners from inside the jail and remind them that they are worthy of all the blessings and opportunities that are available to them. After receiving a prompting from the Lord, Camp and his wife moved back to Georgia where they received their home loan with ALCOVA Mortgage in Kennesaw.
Camp currently serves a home group and his church. With his recent move back to Georgia, he is looking forward to the opportunity to serve prisoners again through jail ministries!
Branch Partner Michael Uzzell from our Kennesaw, GA branch was honored to present Camp with his award.
