Dave Young

Dave Young began his military journey in 2004, enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving in the Military Police. After three years of dedicated service and one deployment, he transitioned to the Infantry, where he began instructing at the renowned Air Assault School at Fort Benning, Georgia.

In 2011, Dave commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Georgia Army National Guard and branched into the Cavalry. Over the next several years, he held vital leadership roles including Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Company Commander. His service included deployments to the United Kingdom, Germany, and Cameroon, where he served as an international instructor for specialized military courses.

Decorated and Respected: A Distinguished Service Record

Throughout his military career, Dave earned numerous accolades that highlight his commitment and expertise, including:

• Airborne Badge
• Air Assault Badge
• Pathfinder Badge

Dave proudly served as a Paratrooper for over 10 years, participating in joint operations with militaries from around the globe. His final military assignment was as Company Commander of Georgia’s Officer Candidate School program at Dobbins Air Force Base. He retired in 2024 at the rank of Major, closing a remarkable 20-year chapter of military service.

A New Mission: Financial Planning and Empowerment

In 2015, Dave shifted from active duty to pursue a new passion: helping others build their financial futures. Drawing on his extensive background in strategic planning, he entered the financial planning industry and founded Command Wealth Management. Today, as owner and financial planner, Dave continues to lead with the same discipline and vision that defined his military career—this time, serving families and individuals instead of troops.

Serving His Community Beyond the Uniform

Dave’s commitment to service didn’t stop when he left the military. He has remained an active and impactful member of his local community. In 2020, he served as President of the Marietta Business Association, supporting local businesses and driving community growth. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Military Institute Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans in the Georgia National Guard.

His story is one of integrity, resilience, and service—on the battlefield, in business, and throughout the community. Whether he’s leading a platoon or helping families plan for the future, Dave continues to make a lasting impact every step of the way.
