Clinton Weeks

We are proud to honor Clinton Weeks as our latest Hometown Hero. His story reflects a lifetime of service—first to our country, and now to the community he calls home.

Serving in the United States Coast Guard

Clinton enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1990, following a deep-rooted family tradition of service. Across his family, nearly every branch of the military is represented, along with careers in law enforcement and firefighting.

During his five years of service, Clinton reached the rank of E-5 (Radioman Second Class – RM2). He was part of a communications crew responsible for maintaining critical systems across a vast area of operations, including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and the continental United States.

His role was essential to the success of Search and Rescue and Maritime Law Enforcement missions. By ensuring reliable communication, Clinton helped support operations where timing, accuracy, and teamwork could make the difference between life and death.

Life After Military Service

After leaving the Coast Guard, Clinton returned to Virginia, where he grew up. He now serves as the Golf Course Superintendent at Blue Hills Golf Club in Roanoke.

The position allows him to stay outdoors, work hands-on with a team, and take pride in seeing daily progress. Much like his time in the military, the role requires leadership, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic—qualities Clinton continues to bring to everything he does.

Giving Back to the Community

Clinton remains actively involved in the community through the First Tee program, helping introduce young people to the game of golf while teaching confidence, discipline, and life skills.

He also continues to support veterans’ organizations and charitable causes, ensuring that his commitment to service didn’t end when he took off the uniform.
