Brodie Jones is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, former Collier County Sheriff’s Deputy, and proud supporter of Florida community service initiatives. His career reflects a deep dedication to public safety, search and rescue operations, and environmental protection.
In January 2018, Brodie joined the United States Coast Guard with a mission to protect lives and support humanitarian efforts. He was stationed in Neah Bay, Washington, and Islamorada, Florida, serving as a Maritime Enforcement Specialist.
As a Petty Officer Second Class (E-5), Brodie enforced U.S. maritime law, conducted vessel boardings, and supported critical search and rescue missions. Over his career, he accumulated more than 1,000 hours underway in diverse and challenging environments.
His dedication and performance earned him the prestigious Coast Guard Achievement Medal for lifesaving rescues and his leadership in responding to maritime migration crises from Cuba and Haiti.
After active duty, Brodie transitioned to law enforcement in Florida, joining the Collier County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy. In this role, he focused on community safety, emergency response, and proactive crime prevention.
Brodie built strong connections with residents, earning trust through his professionalism, communication, and integrity. His work as a law enforcement officer in Florida allowed him to continue his passion for protecting others—this time on land.
Beyond his professional service, Brodie is dedicated to protecting Florida’s environment. As a Credentialed Merchant Mariner, he teaches his children the importance of ocean conservation and responsible stewardship of natural resources.
He actively supports Captains for Clean Water, a nonprofit organization working to restore Florida’s waterways and the Everglades. His advocacy highlights the connection between public safety and environmental health in Florida communities.
Brodie continues his mission of public service as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. This role keeps him engaged in maritime operations, national security, and environmental awareness programs while allowing him to remain active in his community.
From his service as a Coast Guard veteran to his time with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, and now as a community leader, Brodie Jones represents the very best of what it means to be a Hometown Hero.
